Bawumia To Revamp(Renovate) Kumasi Mosque After Settling GH₵120k Lease Arrears
The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has settled a 56-year aggregated ground rent overdue debts of the Kumasi Central Mosque following a solicitation by the Muslim people group in the Kumasi Metropolis.
The land on which the Kumasi Central Mosque is arranged had aggregated rent unpaid debts of GH₵120,000 going back to 1964, and the Muslim Community in Kumasi was feeling the squeeze to settle up.
Having raised GH₵35,000 out of the complete unpaid debts, the Muslim Community spoke to Dr Bawumia to mediate and the Vice President has reacted emphatically by settling the rest of the measure of GH 85,000 Cedis.
MCE for Asokore Mampong Municipal, Halidu Seidu on Friday drove authorities including Alhaji Dr Rauf Ibrahim Registrar of the Pharmacy Council and Alhaji Yunusa Osman, from Office of the Vice President, to introduce the gift for the benefit of the Vice President to the initiative of the Muslim Community in Kumasi.
Veep to remodel Mosque
Talking subsequent to introducing the gift, Hon. Halidu Seidu, who talked for the benefit of the Dr Bawumia, said the Vice President has, notwithstanding settling up the aggregated unpaid debts chose to give the Central Mosque a befitting status by revamping(renovating) it.
The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul Mumin Harun and Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulrahim, Chairman of the Central Mosque Committee communicated gratefulness to Dr Bawumia for his liberal gift and appealed to God for Allah's direction for the Vice President.
