There is no doubt about incumbency fatigue within the Asawasi Constituency, especially among the youth. There is the sense of lost of hope in the current siting. MP. Muntaka Mubarak, however, they seem to not have any strong conviction about his challenger in.the person of Alhaji Alidu. Seidu, the current Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) who they feel would not be able to match the might of the NDC's candidate.
The happenings that resulted in the eventual acclamation of Hon Alidu. Seidu to contest for NPP slot In the Asawasi, and the unfair treatment of former political affairs director ,Hon Manaf Ibrahim at the Jubilee house will in doubt be a political disadvantage for the NPP and their parliamentary candidate.
Mr. Manaf Ibrahim could have been the potent rival to oust the current mp, Hon Muntaka Mubarak, who the youth and the hold believe is the winnable material, has the charisma, he is a likable person across the political divide within the Constituency. The constituents have mostly lamented how they will miss an opportunity to have one of the finest Zongo's vibrant politician to represent them in parliament after he was disallowed to contest the primaries.
For now it is obviously too late for any change, but it is a fact that Hon. Manaf Ibrahim is an affable, popular and charismatic material in the Asawasi Constituency, the NPP will be disadvantage of going to December 7 elections.
