The battle lines have been drawn between those in favor and those against the passage of a bill that seeks to criminalize LGBTQ+. Indeed, as Ghanaians many felt it the bill will be a walk in the pack until a group of 18 professionals led by lawyer Akoto Ampaw started a stormy resistance to the bill. According to the Ampaw led faction, the time was not right for such a bill to be passed as Ghana had more important things to deal with.
At the head of the presentation of the bill is Sam George Nartey, MP for Ningo Prampram. Sam George with the support of other law makers seeks to garner more support and pass the bill to promote proper sexual values. Indeed, Sam has come under some criticisms and yet he has managed to deal with them all with no scent of smoke in his garments.
Well, over the weekend, Sam George who is an elder with the Perez Chapel International was called on by his papa, Bishop Charles Agyin Asare to be prayed for. With oil poured on him, the man of God called for fresh fire and courage from God for the legislator in the coming days. He called every work of the opposer to be destroyed.
Parliament is expected to resume on October 22. It is expected that there will be a reading of the bill and the debate will begin. Indeed, there are interesting times ahead as a nation. Many have called for a live telecast of the debate and voting so Ghanaians become aware of what their MPs do.
