The member of parliament for Noth Tongu constituency Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has landed the admiration and praises of Ghanaians once again with a new act in his constituency.
He made a wonderful benevolent mark in the health sector of his constituency with a donation to at one of the huge hospitals that has served many in the health sector.
This is what he posted on his official Facebook handle:
"I paid a working visit to the Battor Catholic Hospital in my beloved constituency today to directly express my solidarity with management and staff on the worrying development of a significant number of frontline healthcare workers who have contracted COVID-19 at the facility in the course of duty.
I humbly conveyed my decision to establish a constituency COVID-19 Frontline Healthcare Workers Recovery Fund to support the recovery process of all our heroes and heroines. This fund is in addition to what they are entitled to under the MP’s insurance package which was commissioned in March last year.
I therefore presented a cheque for GHS16,500 to Medical Superintendent, Dr. Hayford Atuguba as seed money for the fund.
A token gesture to remind our frontline heroes and heroines that local leadership absolutely values their incalculable sacrifices.
My constituents and I wish you all a successful recovery. We shall continue to keep you in our prayers. You inspire us.
