The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong has finally revealed that the NPP Chairman for Ashanti Region, Chairman Wontumi will be sanctioned for endorsing Dr. Bawumia as the next flag bearer of the ruling party. Justin Kodua reveals that such actions hugely affect the party and bring disunity among the members.
Justin charged all members of the NPP to stay united and ensure that they work towards breaking the eight in the 2024 elections. He also mentioned that endorsement of aspirants by key executives is prohibited and not welcome in their internal elections, especially in the flag bearer position.
“ Mr. Chairman, we appeal to all members, executives, loyalists and sympathizers of NPP to be guided by the history and what happens to us whenever we are not united. When you tell yourself you won't go out to campaign or even to vote, think of 1979, and 2008. The pain that we went through for these years losing elections. As National Executives, we pledge to act as impartial referees in the upcoming Parliamentary and flag bearer elections. Endorsement of aspirants by key national and regional executives are prohibited. As such, Chairman Wontumi’s actions will attract future sanctions.” Justin Kodua Frimpong boldly revealed this.
This week, a video went viral where Chairman Wontumi was seen endorsing Dr. Bawumia for the next flag bearer of the NPP.
