It seems the fight against illegal mining popularly known as galamsey has failed with our water bodies and farms been contaminated and destroyed by chemicals, there is little hope for things to be better. The Chinese engage in galamsey and it is believed some prominent figures within the country also participate in this menace.
The rate at which our water bodies keep deteriorating seems to indicate that if Care is not taken and we'll soon be importing water to drink. The national dialogue on galamsey has been a waste of time and money, since no success is achieved.
Captain Smart, the morning show host on Angel TV and Radio has indicated this morning that the certain people in high places of power must be apprehended to face the law. He opined that the as a matter of urgency the president must order for the immediate arrest of Professor Frimpong Boateng as he is complicit in the galamsey.
He indicated as the chairperson of the inter ministerial committee against illegal mining, it was under his tenure that the excavators got missing. And he was accused by a party chairman of being involved in the galamsey menace.
He also had a mining concession which clearly signified conflict of interest. This and many more facts made the top journalist to call for the immediate arrest of professor Frimpong Boateng.
