Russia Tells Ghanaians To Stop Blaming Them For Our Hardship

Most people won't recommend their friends outside the country to come back because even the tourists here say Ghana is an expensive country. We're all affected by the sudden increase in the prices of fares, food commodities, dresses, and a lot of basic things we will need.

Though most people are blaming the government for being careless and injust with the country's wealth, others are accusing Russia of being behind this mess because, according to them, Russia's invasion of Ukraine caused all this mess. What do you think?

On Thursday, June 30,2022, the Russian embassy in Ghana replied to Ghanaians who are blaming them for the sudden increase and the hardship of the country. We all know Ghana has ties with Russia in a way or another because our President,Nana Addo was seen with The Russian president, Putin sometime ago having some conversation and we even saw how Russia congratulated Ghana on the independence day but yet still, they once again said something about these accusations on their country, Russia.

"The Ghanaian press continues to carbon-copy the Western mainstream trying to persuade local readers that the Russian special military operation in Ukraine is to blame for the increase in bread prices." This was what the Russian embassy here in Ghana had to say on their Twitter account.

They continued by saying, "At the same time, journalists shyly keep silent that food and energy prices began to rapidly rise in early 2020 due to systemic miscalculations of the financial and economic policies of Western countries during the coronavirus pandemic."

Do you agree with them?

Though some netizens aren't so cool with this statement released by the Russian embassy, I don't think we should put all the blame on Russia because Ghana isn't in the 10 list of affected African countries since Russia invaded Ukraine, but from the Russian side, Ghana would definitely be affected because Ghana is known for importing fertilizers from Russian companies and these huge sanctions against them might cause a stir.

What do you think?
