Kwesi Pratt Junior has finally spoken about the issues of illegal mining in Ghana which is popularly called Galamsey. Kwesi Pratt made his words known when he was talking about the arrest of Aisha Huang who was into illegal mining.
According to Kwesi Pratt, Ghanaians are branding the story to look as if Aisha Huang is the only person who is into illegal mining in Ghana. Kwesi Pratt made it clear that, if we want to stop galamsey, then the right initiatives should come from Ghanaians because a number of Ghanaians are into illegal mining and not only Aisha Huang. Mr Kwesi Pratt lament about how politicians are trying to hide from the truth to promote propaganda in the country.
Illegal mining (galamsey) needs to come to an end in Ghana. Water bodies are destroyed as a result of illegal mining.
" When we declare the state of emergency, we will not go to heaven to bring angels to come and enforce it for us. Those fighting against Galamsey are the very people who will enforce the state of emergency. The same police officers and soldiers will be made to enforce the state of emergency. They are the very people on the field right now when things are getting out of hand. Let's stop what we are doing in this country and speak the truth. We must be serious to fight Galamsey and we will be able to fight it.
Looking at what is happening recently, it looks as if Aisha Huang is the only person doing Galamsey from Accra to Bolegatanga. There are several people into illegal mining and we are trying to mean Aisha Huang is the only person into illegal mining. Something is wrong. This is the effect of propaganda. When propaganda becomes dominant, the truth depart" - Kwesi Pratt Stated.
