Afriyie Ankrah made this allegation against the EC as a panelist via zoom call on 'THE KEYPOINTS' program on TV3 today, 22nd May 2021, when he gave his opinion about the proposed electoral reforms at the IPAC meetings.
According to him, the laws of Ghana state who Political Parties are, and by practice and convention, they know Political parties that are active at IPAC meetings.
"Where the EC itself has gone to recruit these parties to bring them to IPAC meetings to Slur the numbers so that when there is a deliberation, they will say ok let's vote.
So, if all of the sudden, Political parties that we've not seen or know them before appearing on the scene and when there is a contentious matter they will all vote in favor of the EC, does it make any sense?" - he said
The host of the program, Abena Tabi, gave him a chance to withdraw this accusation against the EC, but he refused to withdraw his statement.
