It has become very obvious that the general presidential election race come 2024 will be very competitive. Though these are early days to predict, the possibility that Bawumia will contest for the highest position of the land, President of Ghana, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party. This possibility has to some extent, sent some cold shivers through the spines of the members of the National Democratic Congress.
Not long ago, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made a grand appearance at the University of Cape Coast where he gave some thought provoking and controversial lecture on the economic status of Ghana. At some point, he made some indirect comparison between his government and the erstwhile Mahama administration. That became an object for argument on the media space.
News reaching Gentle. Blogger today has it that the former running mate to John Dramani Mahama in the just ended 2020 election is ready to storm the same University of Cape Coast where Bawumia recently made his appearance. The main reason why she storms UCC this Friday is to be the guest for a digital training and mentorship program. This program was specifically planned for the NDC women chapter of the University, TEIN. Other bigwigs who will make it to the program are Dr.Hannah Bissiw (Women Organizer for the NDC), Joyce Bawah Mogtari (Spokesperson For Mahama), Mrs. Ruth Seddoh, Dr.Nana Ama Klutse.
The question that pops up in mind is that, was the program organized to offset Bawumia's lies or to prepare the way or grounds for the 2024 election?
We live to see.
