Gender Minister Shares Monies And Items To Alleged Victims Of Witch Camps In N/R [Photos]

The Minister for Gender, Children and social protection and also current of Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency in the Central Region, Madam Cynthia Mamle Morrison began a 2 day working tour the North East and Northern Region yesterday, 19th November 2020.

Her purpose in these region was simple, to seek to the welfare of the allged witches in the Gambaga, Gnani, Kukuo, Kpatinga and Leli Dabaari camps.

Speaking at the durbar of chiefs and people in these communities, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison said that government will not want every single Ghanaian to be left out of the developmental welfare for the people.

So President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's administration is presenting this items and monies to them which is a short term plan.

But in the long term plan, the Minister said steps will be taken to disband the camps and reintegrate the alleged witches into their various communities.

Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison donated items such as mattresses, bags of rice, tubers of yam, bags of rice and maize, bags of beans and pieces clothes.

She also donated some stipends of money, cartons of tomatoes, gallons of cooking oil, nose masks, hand sanitizers and veronica buckets to inmates of the Gambaga camp.

Mr. Sampson Laar, the coordinator of Go-Home Project at the Gambaga witch camp thanked Madam Cynthia Mamle Morrison for the Ministry support but made appeal to the Minister to provide a car for the camp.

According to Mr. Sampson, the car when provided will help in transporting sick inmates to hospital and also assist in their daily activities of the need of the inmates

Deputy North East Regional Minister, Hon. Tahiru Tia Ahmed thanked the Ministry and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for their support to inmates of the Gambaga witch camp.

Madam Cynthia Mamle said that these supports will be extended to all alleged witch camp in the region, thus Gnani, Kukuo, Kpatinga and Leli Dabaari camps. The Minister will bring her tour to the region today, Friday 20th November 2020.
