I Asked For 4,600 Cedis But They Promised To Pay 6,000 If I Cover The Event At Night - Photographer

The issue of LGBTQI dominated the country’s media headlines some weeks ago. It got to the extent that the Police had to storm and close some offices of the group. The laws of Ghana forbid acts of homosexuality. Over the weekend news broke out that a lesbian party has been stopped by the police with the culprits arrested.

The wedding was scheduled for Obomeng, a suburb of Kwahu. The lesbian couple were arrested alongside the attendees numbering over 15. This was after the police had been tipped about the event. Today, Tuesday, March 30, 2021, the alleged Photographer spoke to Kojo Dickson on the Angel Midday news.

“I was there one day when a car stopped and a lady alighted and put an offer before me to cover an event. We went close to her car. they told me the programme was at 10pm. I told them I will take GHc4,600. She told me the event was about some ladies getting married. She said that she will offer me 6,000 instead. I felt alarmed and told her I had another programme in Tema.

I asked for her contact so that I could call them after I cancel the Tema contract but she refused and said they will contact me. She introduced me to the couple in the car and the bridal team in the car. They gave me 4 locations for the wedding.

They didn’t give me the exact venue for fear. I forgot about them and later I started receiving calls from some of them that I had exposed them to the police. They are now threatening me for exposing them but in my heart I did not” he said.

The culprits are still in police custody pending further investigations and subsequent trial. More updates will be shared.
