263 Ghanaians have been deported from Kuwait for illegally staying in the country.
The deportees arrived today via special chartered flight at the cost of the Kuwait government. As the borders of the country were closed to prevent importation of the novel corona virus the government of Ghana granted permit for the said deportees to arrive in the country.
The deportees will be mandatory quarantine and test for coronavirus upon their arrival into the country. Deportee who test positive would be given necessary supportive treatment while those who test negative will remain in quarantine for second test at the end of the 14 days quarantine period. The minister of information said yesterday May 22 2020.
The deportees will remain in custody of the state in line with immigration laws of the country on deportees.
Preliminary investigation would then commence into the circumstances of their illegal stay in Kuwaiti.
