Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party has been speaking about the country’s decision to seek help from the IMF. Chairman Wontumi was one of the personalities that earlier stood against the argument of Ghana going to the International Monetary Fund for help.
Chairman Wontumi was encouraging people of his party to stand steadfast even in the wake of the country going to the IMF. According to Wontumi, President Akufo-Addo is a visionary who knows what he is doing and will pull the country out of the IMF at the right time. Interestingly, Chairman Wontumi maintained that the NDC should stop talking about winning the next elections because the NPP have failed and taken the country the IMF.
Chairman Wontumi indicated that he will make the victory of the NPP easy by pushing the NDC to present John Mahama as their flagbearer. He explained for John Mahama he has the strategy to defeat in any election.
“Akufo-Addo will not disgrace us at the IMF. For John Mahama he took us there because of drunkenness and incompetence. The NDC are talking of the NPP losing in 2024. But me Chairman Wontumi I know what to do to force the NDC to bring John Mahama as a presidential candidate. We know how to beat him. We have the tactics” Wontumi bragged
