Former President, John Dramani Mahama has finally sent another message to President Akufo-Addo over the compensation of victims of the Appiatse explosion. The former President reveals that there is a need for the sitting President to ensure that the victims are well compensated and not wait for any court ruling. He sent this bold message to Akufo-Addo when he visited some of the victims at Appiatse and donated some relief items to them.

The Appiatse explosion occurred in an area in Ghana called Appiatse in January 2022. It occurred after a truck with minning explosives exploded in the Western Region of Ghana. When it occurred, former President John Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama sent a truck of relief items to support the victims. Today, he visited the area and still called for compensation for the victims and people in the area.

“ The livelihood of the victims of the explosion is very important. They've lost everything. President Akufo-Addo needs to intervene in other for them to get their compensation. We shouldn't ask them to leave it to the court to decide before the government can pay compensation.” John Mahama boldly revealed this.
