It was an interesting show on Good Evening Ghana. The show is one of the most popular political late night shows. The show is hosted by Paul Adom Otchere and his audience includes even some of his fiercest critics. Yesterday on the show Paul Adom was missing and in his place was another host. Fascinatingly, one of the guests for the show yesterday was a controversial NDC MP.
One of the topics for yesterday was why the NDC are against the removal of Adwoa Safo from Parliament. Murtala Mohammed chose not to answer that question first but rather sent threw shades at Paul’s show for lacking integrity. Murtala mentioned that Paul had no basis to say that Mike Oquaye will win the by election in Dome-Kwabenya. He questioned why Paul will not call for primaries and is concluding on Mike Oquaye winning a by election. He boldly told the host Akwasi that Paul is a stomach journalist who is being paid to disseminate lies on his show.
“I have never seen a pedestrian and the most elementary analysis given to an issue than what I witnessed. I have regretted he is not hosting this programme. I would have loved he was here so I look straight into his face and speak truth to him,” Murtala said.
Murtala also averred that Adwoa Safo’s case had nothing to do with the Assin North case and questioned why Paul concluded that the NPP will win two seats in a by election. According to him it was erroneous for Paul to conclude that there will be a by election in Assin North. He also raised questions as to why Paul had said in one of his touchscreen analysis that James Quayson will be disqualified from contesting in a by election.
According to Murtala Mohammed, Paul needs to be investigated because he might be having some secret discussions with the Judiciary. Murtala was of the view that there is a case in court and so it was contempt for Paul to be making conclusions unless perhaps he has secret information on what might happen.
