After the case had been adjourned to Friday, it has left a lot of suspense as today, 3rd February’s Supreme Court Case ends.
Sammy Gyamfi in speech came to addressed the public on the talks that went on in the Supreme Court.
He said:
Today, our lawyer placed before the Supreme Court of Ghana to ask the first Respondent, the Electoral Commission of Ghana, to bring before the Court the papers they stood on and used to declare Nana Akufo-Addo as president.
This, they did to clear issues on both parties on election declaration. Our was Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata. This went on for the Court to demand of the electoral commission of Ghana of documents, so there could be a fair judgement on the total valid vote casts to be known.
After the election, different figures were heard on different days. Jean Mensa on 9th December talked of the total valid vote cast as Thirteen Million, Four hundred and Thirty-four Thousand, five hundred and seventy-four (13,434,574).
On the next day, she brought a different figure of Thirteen Million, Four hundred and Thirty-three Thousand, five hundred and seventy-three (13,433,573). Then later, she said the total valid votes were Thirteen Million, one hundred and nineteen thousand, four hundred and sixty (13,119,460).
Later again, at the court, the figure she used to declare “Omanpanin” Akufo-Addo is Thirteen Million, One Hundred and Twenty-one Thousand, One hundred and eleven (13,121,111).
According to Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata, the figures are becoming too much as we don’t know the basis from which they evolve.
So, in view of this, if fair judgement is why we are in court, then, the Court should demand EC of the papers. People say he made this request today, but, he made this request through mutual discoveries as far as 19th January.
The Court disagreed with us saying, every document the EC has, we also have at every level so they won’t demand that from the EC.
Telling you this, with testimony before the court, everything shows that, we the NDC don’t have most of the documents. Example, the document associated to Form 13 with Dr. Kpessa Whyte. It is the form that, after all the works, the EC and Jean Mensa recorded for the agents to sign.
If you heard, Dr. Kpessa Whyte said on 2 February that, during that time of signing, they being the agents were not there as "Jean Mensa lied to them of going to have an interaction with the flagbearer of NDC".
So, their eyeballs never saw that form 13 or let's say that, they were giving the form and refused to sign. In view of this, they even don't have the form 13. Humbly, we don’t agree with EC.
Lastly, if we don’t have the document, how will you know that the documents with the EC is the correct one or not? We just want a fair judgement. We have faith that, truth is one and so far as God is alive, the truth will be known.
These were his last words before he ended his speech. More to come, stay tuned.
