With the incessant pressure and attacks coming from the angry Ghanaian youth as well as the fixthecountry# conveners towards the Akufo Addo led government, the onerous lies in some loudmouths in the New Patriotic party like the Abronyes and the likes to counter the insults and attacks from these groups.
One major criticism this current NPP government is facing is the rate at which they borrow and the writings was clear on the war that the words of Dr Bawumia, the vice president would one day come after him. One major campaign tantrum Bawumia used to make the then Mahama led government unpopular in the sight of Ghanaians was the debt stock as at that time which was due to his frequent borrowing.
He (Dr. Bawumia) even went father to jab if borrowing is the only way to rule a country then a JHS leaver could be a president. So as soon as the NPP assumed office in 2016, Ghanaians never thought orbit that they would even make a single attempt to borrow, but opposite is the case. This has now pave thevway for critics to blast this NPP government for borrowing even more than the NDC did.
And in attempt to defend his party, the Bono regional chairman of the NPP, Mr Kwame Baffoe Abronye has told Ghanaians the need for the government to borrow on regular basis as it is the status quo.
Speaking live on Wontumi TV's Nsempa fie, the outspoken chairman gave a cheeky reply to those especially the fixthecountry# activists comparing the rate of borrowing under the NPP government to that of the past NDC government. He stated emphatically there was the need for the frequent borrowing due to how dilapidated the economy was under Mahama.
"We had no other option that to borrow to carry out the numerous projects we promised Ghanaians and to fix the country. Mahama confirmed he had finished chewing all the meat leaving only bones, so were Ghanaians expecting Akufo Addo to fix the country with those bones?", he cheekily jabbed.
He finally assured Ghanaians things will be back to normalcy by the end of the year 2021 and early 2022, for the quantum of mess created by the Mahama administration was very enormous that needs time to clear.
Do you think it is prudent for the NPP administration to still put the blames on the past NDC administration after coming to power for close to five years?
