Col Damoah has been directed by President Akufo-Addo to hand over to his deputy.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed Colonel Kwadwo Damoah (RTD), Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), to hand over to his deputy.

The directive follows the expiration of Col. Damoah's contract, according to the letter obtained by Angelonline.com.gh on August 26, 2022.

"Following the expiration of your contract of service as Commissioner (Customs Division) of the Ghana Revenue Authority on October 13, 2021, the President of the Republic has directed that you hand over duty and office to the Acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Service), Mr. Asiedu Iddisah, who will act as the Commissioner (Customs Division) pending the President's substantive appointment on Friday, August 26, 2022."

"The President appreciates your service to the state and wishes you success in your future endeavors," the letter concluded.

The name of Col. Kwadwo Damoah has recently been in the news as a result of the Office of the Special Prosecutor's report on the Labianca Group of Companies Limited scandal, in which he was arrested.

Concerning the case above, he had claimed that Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor, was out to bring him down.

"Anyone who has read that report thoroughly would understand the basis of that, and fortunately for me, God is always on my side." Before that report, that person told some people who came to tell me that he was going to publish something that would discredit me and that he would do so, and I even sent people to tell him that he's a small boy and I am older than him. I've lived a meaningful life, and he'll have a difficult time destroying me.

"People have tried it. I have survived, and I will survive this one as well," Colonel Damoah said in response to the Special Prosecutor's report.
