Today, 6th October 2021, Kwesi Pratt and Member of Parliament for the Sekondi Constituency, Andrew Egyapa Mercer joined Randy Abbey on the Good Morning Ghana show. Andrew is now the Deputy Minister of Energy. Randy Abbey told Andrew that he abandoned him and the show immediately after he was appointed and consequently approved as Deputy Minister.
In response, Andrew explained that he had been inundated in a pool of work ever since. He revealed that he took a french leave from media communication. That was because, the part communication team advised him not to speak or grant any interview on any show prior to his vetting. Randy later asked why the party took that decision. Andrew disclosed that the party feared he would make a statement during a live show that would implicate him and be used against him during the vetting process.
In reaction, Kwesi Pratt expressed disbelief in what Andrew said. He stated that the NPP party gave him an unfair treatment. Kwesi Pratt disclosed that Andrew is one of the articulate and fluent speakers of the NPP so for the communication team to say that, then it means they did not trust him.
