The US-based Ghanaian journalist, Kevin Taylor, who is popularly known for his political comments against the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-addo is asking the Ghana police Service to immediately arrest Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and make sure justice is done. After the 2020 general elections, there have been several issues going around the country, the opposition Party led by John Mahama is challenging the presidential election results in supreme court.
The legal team for the petitioner is asking the court to grant them the order to interrogate the EC chairperson on how the 2020 presidential election results was collated and declared but that has not happened yet. There have been a report that a male nursing student has been arrested for threatening to burn down the supreme court if Jean Mensa is not allowed to enter into the witness for interrogation.
Kelvin Taylor is asking the government, why has nothing been done to Kennedy Agyapong who threatened to burn the houses of the presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama and the General Secretary (Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because he thinks they were the brains behind the fires that have gutted certain markets across the country after losing the 2020 presidential elections. But the police has been able to arrest a student who threatened the Supreme court through a WhatsApp chat with his friends.
It seems the government is protecting his own people instead of making sure that justice is done according to the law. The Ghana Police Service must act according to the law irrespective of the position of the person in the country, they are to make sure Kennedy Agyapong is arrested Immediately for interrogation about what he said on national TV before dealing with that poor boy who was arrested for his comment in WhatsApp chat.
