Jubilations As E-Levy Will Be Withdrawn From Parliament Next Week.

For those who are yet to abreast themselves about the ongoing battle / race concerning the approval of the much talked about E-Levy, the latest concerning it is that it will be withdrawn from parliament come Friday 11th February 2022.

Reports suggest that, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Deputy Majority Leader has revealed that the E-Levy will be withdrawn from parliament by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

However, the purpose of the withdrawal was not to completely abolish the plan of the new tax to be introduced, but will be introduced later in parliament.

The news of the withdrawal has thrown many into a jubilation mode. However, such jubilations may not be felt wholly, as the withdrawal of the bill from parliament is to only reduce the rate from 1.75% to 1.5%, and not the withdrawal of the bill, and as such plans of the E-Levy in its entirety.

With issues concerning the approval of the E-Levy in Parliament, only time will tell, as it has also proven to be another hurdle ahead of the lawmakers to jump to the finish line of the E-Levy race.
