A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Nana Akomea has finally reacted to the “Walk For Alan” that happened in Kumasi some days ago. The said walk was meant to support Alan Kyeremanteng’s candidature as the next flag bearer of the party. A leading organizer of the walk, Hopeson Adorye revealed that it is Alan’s time and so the party should allow him to be the next flag bearer. The walk went on even though the General Secretary of the party told them to stop.
While speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, Nana Akomea revealed that it was bad for the walk to continue when the leadership of the party stopped it. He mentioned that the NPP is a big party but shouldn't entertain factions since it will bring disunity in the party. He revealed that some of the conversations that was said about other candidates were very bad and the leadership of the party should stop things like that.
“ For me, I think it was very bad to see the organizers of the walk go against the leadership of the party and still organize the walk. All of these things at this time will bring disunity to the party and that's what we must all prevent. Some of the things said about other candidates were very bad and shouldn't be entertained. The leadership of the party should ensure that the race for the next flag bearer of the party won't bring disunity which will affect the party in the 2024 elections.” Nana Akomea boldly revealed this on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo.
