Former executive secretary of the IGP finally explains why he left the police service to do politics

TV3 Key points hostess Dzifa Bampoe discussed the recent violence in Nkoraza with renowned security brains. On the panel for discussions, Honourable Supt (Retd) Peter Toobu joined Honourable Andy Appiah Kubi and Dr. Ishmael Norman.


The former executive secretary , Honourable Peter Toobu, made some vehement contributions via zoom as he revealed the basis behind certain personal decisions that he took . He exclaimed that the President of Ghana ,current IGP and Minister of Interior must speak on the violence that happened in Nkoranza claiming lives of some cherished Ghanaians . He requested that the Police Service must always adhere to the code of integrity in order not to tarnish the institution.


Honourable Peter Toobu also revealed why he left the police service to do politics. In his explanation, he recounted that he detected that politicians did not have much knowledge on security issues and so he realised he could make a positive impact on the country if he enters politics . According to the security consultant, this is what made him contest for the member of parliament position at the Wa- West constituency .

Honourable Peter Toobu's comments come on the backdrop of recent killings by some section of the police at Nkoranza .

Many security experts have raised issues concerning the required technical skills of the Police Service and have called for a thorough investigation into the actions of the Police involved .
