The 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections has raised debates in several constituencies. The Parliamentary Elections declared for the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region has been before a High Court in Cape Coast for some time now.
The Member of Parliament elect on the National Democratic Congress Party's Ticket for the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region of Ghana is Honourable Richard Quayson who succeeded Honourable Abena Durowaa Mensah.
Today, news reaching the desk of Wysopera suggests that a High Court in the Central Region has cancelled the election results and declarations for the Assin North Constituency.
This suggests that New Elections need to be conducted in that Constituency.
The court presided over by Justice Kwasi Boakye, and he just ordered that fresh elections should be conducted in the constituency.
The current Member of Parliament for the Assin North Constituency, Honourable Richard Quayson is yet to comment on this development.
If the re-election is to take place, it would be a big gamble for both parties since the majority in parliament currently is shaking on its toes. It could lead the New Patriotic Party another step higher if they win.
Both party representatives must put on their campaign gears as at now and begin to campaign seriously since the outcome of the elections would have a very great influence on parliament.
Do you think that there would be a re-election that would favour the New Patriotic Party?
