In our part of the world, people normally choose to keep their votes a secret. People do not ordinarily tell the world who they cast their votes for, in order to avoid any form of victimization from people who belong to other political affiliations.

This fear of revealingly one's political stance is however not the case of Blessed Godsbrain Kwadwo Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart. The host of Angel TV and Angel FM's morning show has boldly revealed who he voted for in the past election.

Speaking on his program this morning, he was bemoaning the bad nature of our roads in the country which is continuously claiming the lives of innocent Ghanaian citizens. Such accidents had occured on the Accra-Kumasi highway, killing more than 25 people just this morning.

Whilst he was lambasting our leaders for the unfortunate events that have been happening on our roads, he said the Accra-Kumasi highway should have been made a dual carriage one long ago. The process was began by former president John Agyekum Kuffour in 2005 but was abandoned by former presidents John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama.

He said the NPP's Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo who he himself voted for has also not taken any steps to continue the project. By this, Captain Smart revealed that he voted for the New Patriotic Party's flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
