The National Democratic Congress supporters have over the past weeks protested heavily against the declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo as the winner of the Presidential election and wants the EC to reverse the verdict.
The Former President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday 30th December 2020 through his Lawyer Tony Lithur filed a petition at the Supreme Court ordering the Supreme Court to declare the election null and void and that means a run off.
This has raised eyebrows as to why the NDC and Mahama knew they didn't win the election as they told their protestors and Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada Nii Ayikoi Otoo can't fathom as to why John Dramani Mahama 'lied' to his followers that he won.
He said “Why did you tell your protestors you won the Presidential elections but not Nana Akufo-Addo? You have then filed a Petition at the Supreme Court to seek for a run off between you and the President because you claim no candidate had 50 plus one percent of the total valid votes cast.
He further explained, "Why then did you claim victory in a treasonable way that you should be sworn in as President come 7th January 2021 when you yourself didn't get 50 percent?"
So the big question is why did Mahama declare a victory for himself if he knew he didn't get fifty percent?
