Considering the two factors we are about to consider, it is undeniable that the spouses of the President and the Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana deserve to be paid.
Of late, there had been a growing outcry on social media and, indeed, the subject of most conversations in Ghana that; there's no need for the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana to approve the formalization of the emoluments of the spouses of the President and his Veep.

In fact, among some of the sentiments such people who have expressed their views on this matter include the idea that the country already bear the cost of all the expenses of these spouses; ranging from: entertainment, security, food, water, etc.
Interestingly, these individuals who have argued about this subject have refused to appreciate the fact that; the spouses of the President and his Veep have, since the inception of the 4th Republic, been taking allowances. Hence, the resent bill before Parliament is just meant to formalize it.
In any case, we cannot deny the fact that they deserve to be paid due to the following reasons.

First, Ghana has offices for the Spouses of the President and the Veep of the Republic of Ghana; which often undertake humanitarian works. A recent one is the newly built Komfo Anokye Maternity Unit which was championed by the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo.

Second, even though one may be gainfully employed, they are forced to quit their previous ocupations immediately their spouses assume the Presidency due to security reasons and other factors.
Therefore, considering the above two reasons, it is undeniable that the spouses of the President and the Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana deserve to be paid.
