The Office of the Chief of Staff has released a letter to the Right Honorable Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin. The letter revealed and gave a pre-notice to the Speaker of Parliament of their intention of withdrawing the military personnel attached to the office of the speaker. See letter.

A member of the National Democratic Congress communication team, Elikem Kotoko, has reacted to this letter. He explained that this attempt by the Chief of Staff is an untenable one.
He added that the reason for this move is an obvious one. According to him, this is a plot to place the security of Alban Bagbin in harm's way. He warned the ruling government that if this is one of their attempts to gag the Speaker, then that will mean a widening of the gap between the executive and the legislature. He stated boldly that this was a bad precedent to Ghana's hard earned political gains.
