Can he say this to Asantehene? Netizens want to know as Akufo Addo shades Aflao Chief.

In reaction to what seems like a clear gaffe by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his interview with Peace FM yesterday, social media commentators have flooded Twitter app with diverse sentiments on the matter

This began shortly after the President had reacted to the question that, the Aflao Chief has given government an ultimatum to complete the E-block SHS building in his area.

Kwame Sefa Kaye had told the President that, the chief is frustrated. To which the President retorted that; "Then he (The chief) should complete it himself".

On Twitter, one key name that curiously got the trend while Netizens were commenting on the issue was the name; Asantehene

The reason was that, the majority of the commentators were asking; can President Akufo-Addo respond to the Asantehene and any other Akan chief similarly?

Could he have said what he said to the chief of Afloa who is a paramount leader of a large group of people in this country to some of the chief that lead his kinsmen?

This writer will not pretend to know the answer. However, many seem to think that, the President will not dare.

The Asantehene has lamented on many things that he deemed not right within the lands under his control. In fact, he has had the occasion to caution the President directly, and admonished him in strong terms, yet, all the President did was to node in obedience.

They believe, he will take every criticism from any of the chiefs in Akyim and Abuakwah area in good faith.

But, he has shown a gross disrespect to an equally important stool like the Aflao paramountcy.

Why he is able to give the Aflao people this kind of treatment through their chief, without any regret, is obviously because of politics.

This, the President believes, probably will not change anything regarding his party's fortunes in the Volta and Oti regions.

But courtesy and mutual respect demands he did otherwise.

We are just hoping that, the President, with the benefit of hindsight will come back again to retract and apologise to the chiefs and people of Aflao.
