Prof. Kwaku Azar Has His Eyes On The Presidency and More, As Mahama's Ben Malor Responds "Excellent"

Kwaku Azar is a Professor, Accountant and Lawyer and has gradually built a solid following on his verified Facebook personal account page. Currently, he boats of as much as 29,170 followers and if you cared to wonder what that means, it means that, every post of his, gets some good numbers of persons, seeing them and reacting as well.

Politically, he has been very vocal and one can expertly classify all his posts to be centered on both social and political concerns, but as a politician also, Prof. Kwaku Azar, centers all these questions and concerns, on the elected leadership of Ghana.

Well fast forward, his latest post, may have exposed to many, his political ambitions for the Presidency of Ghana. He wrote that:

"Parliament must be involved in the appointment of members of the EC, NCCE, CHRAJ as well as in the appointment of the Auditor-General, IGP, CDS and other chiefs of the Security Services. Depending on the position, a simple or super majority approval will be required.

CEOs and Board Members of the SOEs will be appointed to specified terms by the Public Service Commission using a competitive and transparent process open to all qualified Ghanafuo. No MP will serve on any board of an SOE. Nor can they serve on any Board whatsoever or offer other kinds of services.

It shall be an offense to promise or offer a job, contract, scholarship or other government funded benefit to anyone as consideration, favor, or reward for any political activity or for the support of or opposition to any candidate or any political party in any election.

GOGO pledge the preceding reforms in 100 days and be bound by them even before the reforms become effective. #SALL is the cardinal sin of the 8th Parliament. Da Yie!" he wrote.

Kwaku Azar, who started the GOGO Movement, as he has indicated, is outlining governmental policies and hence, the assertion that, he may be readying himself for this huge battle ahead, hopefully in 2024, may be very plausible conclusion.

Commentary which followed this political policies are several and the one which got me wondering, is that of Ben Dotsei Malor, who commented "Excellent!"

Ben Dotse Malor, was a Communications Advisor to the then President of Ghana, H. E John Mahama and has since returned to the United Nations and where he is now the Chief Editor, Dailies, UN News at United Nations

Information about Mr. Malor’s departure from the presidency was very hazy, but his tenure was turbulent, according to sources familiar with internal workings at the presidency, as he was forced eventually to have resigned voluntarily.

News about his departure including releases from the presidency however, seemed to make the matter even cloudier, but some sources, close to the presidency then, revealed that, some NDC party people and some others at the presidency saw him as an outsider and undeserving of their positions, this was barely a year, after he had accepted a formal request from the president then, for him to be temporarily released by the UN to help bring sanity into the then president’s communications.

“However, since his appointment in January 2014, some key individuals at the presidency have deliberately sabotaged and consistently undermined his authority to function, including planting stories in certain newspapers. These were done by individuals who believed they should have been given the job of Communications Advisor,” the source added, as Mr. Malor, and the president’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Raymond Atuguba both resigned their positions at the office of the president.
