Many Ghanaians are raising concerns about the 2021 budget. Even as Parliament debates the budget, the media is also discussing and raising pertinent questions about the contents. Many are worried about the increasing taxes that are set to burden Ghanaians.
“Most of the people in power went with us those days to stand against VAT. Some died in the process and yet my friends who were involved in this fight, when they get into power end up adding more taxes. Why did we fight when we knew in the end we will add more VAT? I feel embarrassed. I can’t believe this.
The government needs to act in the interest of the people, otherwise it will be an abuse of privilege. The People of Ghana will not take this forever. A time is coming when they will say they have had enough. When that time comes, we will have no one to blame but ourselves for being reckless” Mr. Pratt said
Do you agree with Kwesi that the new taxes will destroy the livelihood of Ghanaians? Were you impressed with the content of the budget? Will the budget stabilize Ghana’s economy?
