National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reacted to the #FixTheCountry demo indicating that, those members who are involved in it are purely members of the New Patriotic Party NPP
The Communication Officer further added that; the claims that the NDC is the steering wheel behind the #FixTheCountry demo is an insult to the party integrity and is however borne out of mischief which comprises celebrities and Ghanaian youth.
The National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi made this statement following the comments made by the National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) about the planned demonstration by the social media group campaign on May 9, 2021.
According to Freddie Blay, the NDC is using the social media campaign #FixTheCountry to tarnished the image of Akufo Addo administration.
However, Sammy Gyamfi reacting to the comments said that the NPP is reversing the blame to the NDC because the intensity of the #FixTheCountry demo is increasing within a short period.
He added that, the reaction of the NPP government appointees and chairman towards this issues is a clear indication that they have no interest of the peoples concerns at hand.
“Those voicing out are not politicians but ordinary people venting their spleen on problems created by bad leaders. The #FixTheCountry demo is an organic spontaneous movement by Ghanaian youth who can no longer bare the suffering under President Akufo-Addo.” the communication Officer said.
He further added that, the National Democratic Congress NDC understand the reaction of Ghanaians in exercising their human right and for that matter, they will reject any planned that will prevent the peoples from exercising their human right dignity.
