Order Electoral Commission To Organise Another Election - Mahama Asks Court As Ghanaians React

Former president and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 general elections, John Dramani Mahama has filed his closing address at the Supreme Court.

The former president is the complainant in a suit at the apex court to challenge the outcome of the December 2020 general elections. He challenges the constitutionality of the declaration done by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa which made the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akuffo-Addo president for a second term.

After a long legal battle between the lawyer for the petitioner, Tsatsu Tsikata and the lawyers for the respondents, Akoto Ampaw and Justin Amenuvor, the court asked the petitioners lawyers to submit their written address by close of Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

The petitioner has therefore submitted his closing address, signed by his Lawyer, Tony Lithur. Accordion to the Petitioner, as contained in his address, the court should declare the declaration of the final presidential results null and void. He is therefore asking the court to ask the Electoral Commission to conduct another Election between himself and the president, Nana Akuffo Addo.

The following are the reactions of Ghanaians concerning the demand of former president John Dramani Mahama.
