The NDC should be the last political party to raise eyebrows over the GHC100,000 filing fees for presidential candidates in the upcoming elections.
According to Asiedu Nketiah, the stated amount is outrageous and sets a very bad precedence for our democracy for the Electoral Commission to ask presidential candidates to pay that much as filing fees.
Is it not ironic that the NDC charged GHC300,000 as filing fees for its presidential primaries but they are wailing over a paltry GHC100,000 in the scheme of things?
Logic should dictate to the NDC that they have no moral right to raise any issues with this amount presidential candidates are to pay as filing fees considering the exorbitant fees they charged during their internal elections.

A political party or presidential candidate that finds it difficult raising GHC100,000 as a filing fee is not worth a plugged nickel.
The Electoral Commission has not been unreasonable in fixing this amount as fees for filing by presidential candidates.
