Ghana is now a member of the Basel Consultative Group.

The Basel Consultative Group(BCG) provides forum for deepening the Committee's engagement with administrators around the world on banking administrative issues.

Ghana is one of four countries in Africa to be members of the BCG, in which the bank was said to be admitted into the global body. Nigeria, Tunisia and Mauritius are the other members of the Basel Consultative Group.

The Basel Consultative Group is one of five working groups that form under the internal structure of the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (BCBS).

On Thursday, 1st of April 202, a statement was released saying: "As membership of the BCBS is limited to G20 countries, the BCG provides a platform for the BCBS to engage with non-members, thereby, facilitating broader dialogue around the work, with banking supervisory authorities such as Bank of Ghana and promoting supervisory cooperation and implementing administrative standards and best practices."

Bank of Ghana's membership of the Basel Consultative Group would expand the submission of its banking administrative staff to best practices in the administration of banks, and strengthen its cooperation with other administrative authorities around the world.

Bank of Ghana pledged of promoting the safety and soundness of Ghana’s banking sector through effective regulation and administration.
