The $94.8 million project which is alleged to be the most beautiful interchange in west Africa begun in 2017 by the Akuffo Addo led government, and was designed to fit in the Central Corridor Infrastructure project to link the Accra-Nsawam, Awoshie Pokuasi and Pokuasi-Kwabenya Ritz junction roads and the Tema Motorway.
The Urban Roads department of the Ghana Highway Authority has pledged to begin public sensitization on the project to ensure that the project is been utilized efficiently by the transport sector.
However, the Pokuasi interchange is not the only interchange constructed by the ruling New Patriotic Party. The Obetsebi Lamptey interchange which has been opened to traffic, the Tema Motorway interchange which is underway and one other are all interchanges been constructed by the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Despite the recent bashing by many critics of the Akuffo Addo as well as the New Patriotic Party, this particular Infrastructure project has accorded some applause and commendation from the Ghanaian public to the ruling New Patriotic Party because of the beauty of the project and how it is going aid in traffic reduction.
