"Go And Ask Osei Kyei Mensah" – Asiedu Nketia Tells Journalist On Live TV

The 8th parliament has been one of the interesting parliaments of the 4th Republic. It has seen so much wrangling among the two major political parties that dominate the House. aside the wrangling, there is also internal petty fights among the political parties themselves.

One of such has been evident in the National Democratic Congress. This came to a head when Okudzeto Ablakwa resigned from the Appointments Committee over grounds of ‘principle’. Many say the party executives have been dictating to the NDC MPs on what to do. Many saw the appointment of Asiedu Nketia as a member of the Parliamentary Service Board was a further boost to that claim.

Tonight, Sunday, April 11, 2021 on Joy News’ ‘The Probe’, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC General Secretary played guest to Emefa Appaw. One of the questions that was posed was whether Asiedu Nketia was added to the Parliamentary service board in exchange so that the NDC MPs on the Appointments Committee approve the minister designates.

Emefa was of the view that there was a sort of agreement from both sides. However, Asiedu Nketia disagreed and maintained that there was nothing like that. “Go and ask Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu. There was nothing like that.” Asiedu Nketia said

He added that there was no negotiation because no one invites his enemies to advise him. He was of the view that Alban Bagbin chose those he wanted to advise him and that was personal and not an exchange for the nomination of some ministers.

What is your take on this?
