Some weeks now Ghanaians have experienced frequent power outages and unstable power supply, until today when the whole country experienced a power cut for some hours. Today’s own caused Ghanaians to express their frustrations and anger on social media with the hashtag “Dumsor is back”. Some angry Ghanaians called on the president and quoted his old tweet where he accused the former president Mahama for “Dumsor” in his term of office. Others also accused the workers at the Electricity of Ghana for the frequent power outage.
Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCO) brought out statement to explain the cause of the nationwide power outage stating that it was due to a challenge in the power system which caused a total power shutdown.
