Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East constituency has proven to all her critics that she can equally perform like all other ministers despite her ability to fluently rattle the official English Language. Her service in the ministry of fisheries over the past few months has seen a dramatic but positive development in that sector.
Today, she was called to Parliament to answer some questions which some MPs had filed for her. The Member of Parliament for Ododioodo constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye articulately posed a supplementary thoughtful question to the Member of Parliament who doubled as the Minister in charge of fisheries, Honorable Hawa Koomson.
"I want to know what the Ministry is doing to ensure that her regulation on the use of inappropriate methods of fishing are fully enforced to avert the situation whereby we will as a country be reprimanded by the international community and the convention we signed into"
Many thought that this question will put the Minister, Hawa Koomson, into a tight corner considering the gargantuan vocabularies in the question. However, Hawa Koomson replied boldly
"We have now given more support than ever to the fisheries enforcement unit. So with collaboration with the unit, I believe we can work on it.
"We have also provided gadget along the coast for them to detect any fish with chemical in case any fish is caught with a chemical", she added.
