"We Don't Need It Now"- Ghanaians Replies Ken Offori Atta

The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta has disclosed that the 2021 population and housing census will cost the country GHS521 million and Kwame A-Plus have asked Ghanaians on social media that: "Discuss, Do we need this now?"

Majority of Ghanaians responses have shown that they are not happy with the amount of money the government is going to spend on population and housing census project this year.

According to them, Ghana is in difficult time and that money can be used to fix something in the country as Ghanaians are crying over with high taxes being imposed on them.

Some of them stated that the government could have used Ghana card to determine the number of people in the country and use that huge amount of money on different thing and said they are not ready to accept that.

Their reactions as reply to finance minister Ken Offori Atta has revealed that majority of Ghanaians are not in need of any population and housing census in the country at this difficult moment.

See some reactions below.

"Honestly, we do not need this now as a country. I hope our leaders will reconsider their decision. Blessings", someone said.

"No country or continent has an accurate data on population, countries as small as Togo and Gambia don't have accurate data on population. All have been exaggerated and estimated. Even UN estimated world population. I wonder the effect it will have on the economy anyway. Though it is an important exercise, we don't need it now", someone said.

"Somebody should tell the finance minister that we don't need any population and what ever what ever census. After all, they won't use the come outcome of it. We all know we are 30million plus. They should go way", another person said.

"Are they going to recruit 521 people to do the job? That means cost per labour is 1 million Ghana cedis. You can double the labour and half the 1 million cost and so on. Oh Ghana" another person reacted.

"They're so comfortable wasting money on nonessential secondary wants while the basic needs of the masses are being ignored", another person said.

"The people suffers when the leaders are clueless or heartless. A serious country would have used the Ghana card to address all national matters which involve head counting", someone suggested.

"We are in hard time and what we don't need this in any ways. After all they will impose those taxs on we the poor Ghanaians" someone implies.
