Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo on Monday became the world's first recipient of a coronavirus vaccine from Covax, a global scheme to procure and distribute inoculations for free for poorer countries. "It is important that I set the example that this vaccine is safe by being the first to have it, so that everybody in Ghana can feel comfortable about taking this vaccine," H. E Nana Addo, said before receiving the vaccine.
He has since been followed by his wife, members of the executive, opposition leader Mahama, staffers at the Presidency, and so on, as the rest of the 600,000 doses are deployed across the country. Ghana's food and drug authority last month authorized the Indian-made vaccine and Russia's Sputnik V, as the government aims to target 20 of its 30 million population by the end of 2021.
As part of the Covax program, some 145 participating poorer economies are set to receive 337.2 million doses by mid-year -- enough to vaccinate a little over three percent of their combined populations, as they hope to raise the figure to up to 27 percent in lower-income countries by the end of December.
Already, a strategic communications campaign is on-going to help dissuade many from not taking the drugs, as news reports have reported of somewhat widespread false claims about the usage of the drug. Whereas some attribute sudden negative challenges to the intake of the vaccine, the presidents first shot was to serve as an inspiration that, nothing can go bad when taken, as the country's leader had done.
What has been going viral on Facebook especially is the fact that, a funny picture of a police man who took the shot has exposed his fears for syringes, as opposed to what his mere membership to the police force, would have sought for.
Whereas many have been trying to find out ho the person is, we found it out and here it is.

His bio on Facebook states that, "i fear nothing unless electricity.i love advocacy and food security is Paramount.." but the first part that "i fear nothing unless electricity" has been exposed by his trending picture, as it indicates fear. He is also seen to be heavily built and this may have occasioned the surprise viral response that has seen the picture shared by over 50,000 Facebook users, so far up till today.
He appears as a very jovial person as one of his posts about the vaccine reads that "If shatta wale takes his covid jab moro ,boys will storm the clinics and force the nurses to give them same . Front line workers hurry up and go and take it oooo.".
But in responding to his picture that has gone viral, he promises a press conference being planned to address people's concerns and for him to answer his critics who accuse him of fear., in a funny way as well when he wrote that "Press conference loading Mabel Aku Baneseh PRO, My lawyer Justice Sai is on standby."
