The lawmakers deserve better than the $28 million car loan; some of us use Uber - NDC MP

Mr. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, Member of Parliament for South Dayi, has declared his support for a $28 million car loan.

The MP, who represents the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), announced that the initiative was welcomed since some parliamentarians ride in UBER to attend meetings.

According to him, this is quite worrying and very unsafe.

According to a report by JoyNews, Mr Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor indicated that members of the house deserved better than a loan of $28 million used to buy cars.

In his opinion, MPs should rather be given official cars like those that are given to state officials.

The EC, according to Dafeamekpor, has about five military personnel following her in her two land cruisers.

He added that parliamentarians are the only ones not receiving official vehicles under article 71, so the government should act to rectify this situation.

“MPs are the only category of article 71 holders who are not given an official vehicle... My position is that the government should take steps and get us official vehicles...,” he said.
