We are one family - Asawasi will have peaceful elections ever

The upcoming December 7 elections has been dubbed to be the most acrimonious in the country's history, as the two major political parties gearing up for victory.

The Asawasi Constituency has been tag to be among the Hotspot for potential political violence in the country, however the youth and the many inhabitants in the community believe that would not happen.

Over weekend, various events and activities were held in the Constituency, all in an attempt to awaken the youth to shun violence and all unhealthy tension, before, during and after the elections on December 7. One of the events was the peace forum organized by the Malik Alao international Foundation on the theme ASAWASI UNITED FOR PEACE, BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER DECEMBER 7 ELECTIONS.

The peace forum brought the main parliamentary candidate of the Constituency, Hon Muntaka Mubarak, the incumbent member of Parliament for Asawasi for NDC, and the current MCE Alhaji Alidu seidu also the aspiring PC on the NPP ticket.

The two candidates all pledged peace and urged their supporters to also not allow politicians to use them for their selfish political ambitions. Also in attendance were the youth groups affiliated to the NDC and NPP who all pledged to peaceful elections.

Other encounter was the peaceful and friendly exchanges between the NPP and NDC Mr T. J Anyars and Mr Masawudu Mubarak. They urged the followers and supporters to emulate them, as they all belong to one family either by ethnicity, religion, or by intermarriages, so they do not need to inflict any verbal or physical attack on any one.
