Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, Presidential Staffer.
Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, a Presidential Staffer at the Office of the President at the Jubilee House, has, in a statement which he wrote on his personal Facebook account, indicated; "Mrs. Lordina Mahama, I'm told, has also decided to refund to the state all monies paid to her when she was Second Lady, First Lady, and, now, Former First Lady, i.e. January 2009 to June 2021. Her office will officially issue a statement to that effect this morning."

However, Mr. Tagoe further indicated that the information is from a reliable source and he was not ready expose who is that source.

Indeed, should the said official communication by the office of the Former First Lady, Lordina Mahama, wife of John Dramani Mahama, be realesed, it is going to be, more or less, as a result of the gradually growing the counter pressure some Ghanaians are mounting on her to also refund all the monies which have been paid to her, following Rebecca Akufo's decision to refund her own.

The above development is against the background of the recent brouhaha in Ghana over the decision of a committee to formalize the allowances paid to the spouses of Presidents, Veeps, Former Presidents, and Former Veeps.
Following this decision by the committee, Ghanaians vented their anger, both on social media and the legacy media, on government and called for the government to rescind that decision.
