The ongoing banter between Ghana Education Service (GES) and Achimota Senior High School has created a lot of discussion on various media outlets.
Incipiently, the authorities of Achimota S.H.S rejected some students on the basis of wearing dreadlocks.
The Rastafari community and some Ghanaians were not happy about the decision the school authorities took.
However, GES issued directives to the authorities of Achimota S.H.S in order to rescind their decision and admit these students.
Today, March 22, 2021 the authorities of Achimota S.H.S have failed to succumb to the demands of GES.
Moreover, the school has received intensive support from NAGRAT and alumni of the school in order to resist any unsolicited rules or culture that are being imposed on the school.
According to the Multi Media sports journalist, Garly Al-Smith, the headmistress of Achimota S.H.S, Mrs Adom Bea, will resign than to allow any institution or organisation bend the policies and rules of the institutions despite the extensive pressure the school authorities have been subjected to succumb.
He wrote that
“The headmistress of Achimota School is Mrs Adom Bea.
She taught me English, form 1-3 at Presec. I need you to understand something about Mrs Adom: she will NEVER, EVER allow anybody to bend school rules. Including the school's board and GES. She will rather resign than let anyone subvert the school's culture.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Mrs Adom will meet her husband, Mr Adom (a chemistry teacher) on the lawns and pavements and they will pass each other like strangers.”
He wrote this on his Facebook page today.
