There are rumors it wasn't Adwoa Safo who showed up in Parliament, we will investigate; NDC hints

The composition of the eight Parliament of the Fourth Republic has made its activities entirely different from the previous Parliament.

Analysts and experts have described the recent events in Parliament, especially concerning the 2022 budget as healthy for our democracy. They contend that this is the first time Parliament seems not to be playing a second fiddle to the executive. The various Standing Orders of Parliament and the laws in the 1992 Constitution are being tested.

In a related development, Honourable Abu Jinakpor, the Member of Parliament for Damango Constituency, in an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Good Evening Ghana,November 30, pointed out that, what is happening is good for our democracy. He however pointed out that, the only downside of it is when it sometimes gets out of hand.

The latest issue being raised about what happened in Parliament on November 30, is the identity of Lawyer Adwoa Safo, the legislator for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency. The law-maker had been out of the country for some time . According to the minority, Lawyer Adwoa Safo was not in Parliament on Friday, November 26. But the Member of Parliament attended today's proceedings in the house.

Questions are however being raised as to whether or not it was indeed Lawyer Adwoa Safo who came to Parliament today. Though the minority have not come out to declare that it was not Adwoa Safo who, Honourable Kwabena Mintah Atandoh, a leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, hinted in an interview the HotNews Show on Pan Africa TV (November 30) that, there are rumors that the person who showed up in Parliament today as Adwoa Safo is not the one and they will be investigating it.

"... There are people who think that the person who was purported to be Adwoa Safo was not Adwoa Safo. But we( the NDC) never said that in our press conference, but if anything at all, we will look into it", he said.
