"I Did Some Economics In 6th Form, I'm Not Stupid" - Mahama Sends Message To Nana Akufo-Addo

John Dramani Mahama in an interview Cape FM, have sent an unexpected message to President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government for failing to get the Komenda sugar factory on its feet, after they bashed him for not making provisions for raw materials for the production of sugar in the factory.

Former President John Mahama said when he was in power, they used to import almost $300 million worth of sugar every year. They found it needful to build a sugar factory instead of importing always. They factory will as well serve as a source of employment and also satisfy Ghanaians with sugar.

Phase one of the project was them to build the factory and then phase two will follow. Phase two was to make provision for raw materials. And with this, the Indian government agreed to give us over $24 million to cater for that. It was up to Nana Akufo-Addo and his people to apply for such to be granted, but they said it was not their priority.

"Because they were power hungry they were against me and bashing me that I did not make provisions for raw materials. What have they done when they came to power? They have done nothing, so this should tell you something. The factory is there but they did not apply, because they will think Ghanaians will say he was the one that built it."

"I'm not stupid to build a factory that I will not make provisions for raw materials. I did some economics in 6th form, I'm not stupid at all. I knew what the vision was, the vision was to get the factory first then we talk about raw materials which we had in place before we left power."

"When Nana Akufo-Addo was not in power he thought it was easy. they were talking plenty when I was in power. Now look at where they have landed Ghana."
