We did not agree to paying the first and second ladies - Comrade Muntala Mohammed

Ghana is an interesting country where politicians will never stop making the headlines everyday.

The bone of contestion Ghanaians are generally speaking of now is the ecommendation to pay the wives of Presidents and Vice Presidents of the republic.

To the extend that this development has recieved parliamentary approval, the million dollar question constituents are asking the 275 members they have elected to represent us at the law making level of our democratic architecture is that, knowing the predicaments of lack of school buildings, good roads, portable water, health facilities and social support among others for which some are calling for leadership to #FIXTHECOUNTRY, why should they approve such huge sums to be drawn by the FLOTROG and the SLOTROG since that will further drain the already debt ridden kitty of the state.

In disagreement to the thought that both NDC and NPP representatives in parliament are the people to blame for binding the commission's recommendation on us, Comrade Muntala Mohammed submits that, it was the sole decision of the NPP MPs and that NDC MPs collectively turned down the commission's recommendation as opposed to the NPP.

Even as the argument will rage on until focus is shifted to allegations of corruption against the CJ or another, the main concern for Ghanaians is that, our leaders must eschew selfish interests and endeavour to leave us and generations yet to be born with better opportunities than just for their own-selves and their families and friends.
