Three Deputy Ministers to one ministry? - Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah surprised

President Nana Akufo-recruitment Addo's of three Deputy Ministers to a Ministry has shocked Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, a Governance lecturer at the Central University.

On Tuesday, President Nana Akufo-Addo issued a list of his Deputy Minister-designates who will assist Ministers in different Ministries.

There are three deputy ministers in each of the ministries of Trade, Energy, and Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Trade & Industry, and Energy.

The candidates must also be vetted and confirmed by Parliament's Appointments Committee.

Dr. Otchere-Ankrah told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" that three (3) Deputy Ministers is too many, and a Ministry should have no more than two.

"On the President's three Deputy Ministers for three Ministries, I disagree. He opined, "I think two would have sufficed."

Despite his disagreement with the President's decision to nominate three people as Deputy Ministers-designate, he urged the candidates to carry out their duties efficiently until they were approved by Parliament's Appointments Committee.

He reminded them not to lose sight of their mission until they arrived at their different Ministries.
